I’m not naturally an early riser, but my day usually begins around six – not thanks to an alarm, but rather to my two kids, who not only determine my wake-up time but often the quality of my sleep as well! Despite the early start, I enjoy these quiet mornings with my family, sharing breakfast together. Most days, that means a slice of my homemade sourdough or a bowl of oatmeal. My first coffee, though? That has to wait until the workday officially begins.
My workday starts between eight and nine, depending on whether I’m at a client’s site, Valcon’s office, or working from home. While the flexibility of working from home is great – especially on days filled with digital meetings – I find the energy of face-to-face interaction hard to beat. Being in the office or at a client site gives me a real boost. I thrive on those spontaneous chats over coffee, productive workshops, and lunchtime conversations that wander to non-work topics. Building these personal connections is not only enjoyable but essential to delivering high-quality work and strengthening my client relationships.
At the moment, I’m the project manager and product owner for a new digital collaboration tool designed to streamline logistics operations for a Swedish multinational in the industrial sector. My responsibilities cover everything from planning and execution to risk management. In this role, I focus on making sure that resources are optimised, expectations are met, and all relevant departments are engaged and informed. It’s a job that’s all about coordination and problem-solving, ensuring that everyone can work efficiently to meet business objectives and create real value.
When I get home from work and over the weekends, I prioritise time with my family. As the weather cools, we love venturing into the forest to find a cosy spot, build a fire, and cook over open flames. Now, we’re also looking forward to the return of snow, with all the excitement and joy that winter activities bring. At home, we enjoy visiting museums and going on outings with friends as part of our regular routine. Once the kids are asleep, I usually hit the gym before settling in with some TV time, the perfect combination for unwinding and recharging.
I joined Valcon three years ago, moving from a project management role at a major Swedish bank. Relationship-building was essential in both roles, but the consulting dynamic is unique, and Valcon has really helped me adapt and grow in this space. The formal training and coaching I’ve received have been invaluable, giving me structure and direction in my professional development. I feel that Valcon’s commitment to investing in people’s growth is one of its greatest strengths.
Looking ahead, I’m excited by the growth opportunities here at Valcon. Our flat organisational structure means that experienced colleagues are accessible and always willing to share their expertise. I also enjoy being able to pay it forward, helping junior colleagues grow and develop their skills. For me, it’s all about building strong, lasting relationships within Valcon, with our clients, and in my career as a whole.
