Principal Analytics Engineer

Do you want to set the technical course and inspire the next generation of data engineers?

As a Principal Analytics Engineer at Valcon, you’ll be the technical authority that both clients and colleagues turn to for guidance. You’ll look beyond individual projects to see the bigger picture: how can we elevate our analytics solutions and empower our people to reach their full potential?

Data & AI Strategy: The “European Powerhouse”

In 2025, Valcon sharpened its focus to become a European powerhouse in AI and data-driven business transformation. Unlike traditional firms that treat data as a byproduct, Valcon places it at the center of every client engagement.

What will you do?

In this role, you combine deep technical expertise with strategic insight. You are responsible for the quality of solutions within a broad portfolio, and you set the standards for the rest of the organization.

  • Guiding & Connecting: You’ll design complex, scalable analytics data models and pipelines, ensuring delivery excellence across multiple projects. By connecting business requirements with technical implementation, you’ll create maximum value for clients while following industry best practices: dimensional modeling, efficient transformation patterns, and analytics best practices (medallion architecture, dbt standards, performance optimization).

  • Innovation & Standardization: You’ll stay ahead of market developments in analytics tools and methodologies, translating them into new approaches and standards for Valcon. You’ll shape how we build analytics solutions and ensure we maintain our technical leadership in the analytics space.

  • Inspiring Mentorship: You’ll mentor senior specialists and specialists, actively contributing to knowledge sharing through expert training and coaching. Your guidance will help colleagues grow professionally and technically in analytics engineering.

  • Trusted Advisor: Clients see you as the expert. You’ll join strategic sessions, help frame analytics requirements, define KPIs and metrics, and identify opportunities where Valcon can add analytics value to their business.

What do we offer you?

We believe top experts need space. Space to innovate, but also space for a private life.

  • Impact: A key role where you have direct influence on Valcon’s technical strategy.

  • Flexibility & Balance: A culture that respects your work-life balance, including options for a sabbatical or extra leave.

  • Appreciation: An excellent salary (matching the Principal/Senior Principal level), bonus scheme, and mobility budget/lease car.

  • Community: A network of peers to spar with, plus access to sports facilities and social events.

Who are you?

You are a recognized expert in your field who easily switches between technology and business. You enjoy sharing your knowledge, for example by speaking at events or writing publications.
In addition, we would like to see the following experience (see black section column >>)
