What will you do?
As a Business Technology Consultant, you will:
- Work closely with clients to understand business challenges, processes and objectives
- Challenge client thinking to uncover root causes and identify quick-win opportunities
- Translate business insights into concrete digital solutions using low-code and automation tooling
- Build MVPs and prototypes, and use them in dialogue with clients to validate ideas and steer direction
- Support sales meetings by demonstrating early solutions, not just explaining concepts
- Participate in the delivery of pilots and early-stage implementations with a small, hands-on team
- Design functional solution architectures and make pragmatic front-end and back-end decisions
- Learn new platforms and technologies quickly and apply them directly in client work
- Contribute to Valcon’s growing technology capability through delivery experience and knowledge sharing

- Has solid experience in hands-on technology consulting or solution delivery
- Is comfortable interacting with clients, challenging them and driving conversations
- Has real experience building software solutions, not only managing projects or vendors
- Enjoys moving quickly from problem to solution and shipping something tangible
- Learns new technologies fast and is comfortable with a steep learning curve
- Works in a structured way and finishes what they start
- Is curious, pragmatic and motivated by creating real impact
Important technical experience
This role requires hands-on technical capability, and you must be comfortable building solutions yourself.
- Low-code and process automation (core): Mendix or Microsoft Power Platform, workflow concepts, BPMN and process automation patterns (experience in one platform is a plus; willingness to learn others essential. No prior Mendix experience required – must be ready to learn and use it quickly at clients)
- AI-assisted development (plus): Experience using AI tools to accelerate development (e.g. AI-assisted coding, prototyping and configuration); ability to review, validate and improve AI-generated code or configurations
- Supporting development experience: Front-end (JavaScript / TypeScript, React, Angular, Vue, HTML/CSS), back-end (Java, C#, Python, Node.js, REST APIs), data and integration (SQL, API-based integration patterns)
