Situation
A leading provider of heating and hot water solutions needed a clearer view of how its data could support its business goals and also needed help to make better use of its new data platform.
The company lacked a clear vision and strategy for its data. It needed to define how it wanted to use data to achieve its business objectives and also to understand how its data platform could support their ambition. Without this clarity, it was difficult for the firm to prioritise the right improvements in areas such as data governance, security and business insight.
Approach
Valcon and the client worked together to assess the organisation’s existing level of data maturity. The work combined in-depth interviews, an online questionnaire amongst stakeholders and desk research to start to build an evidence-based view of the current state. This helped to identify where it needed to mature and inform the actions to support the better use of its data platform. The data maturity assessment and research were translated to inform the development of a practical action plan and roadmap to grow data maturity in the areas that matter most – governance, security and business insight.
Results
It gave the organisation a more structured way to move from ambition to action and make data a stronger enabler of business outcomes.
