We have five core values: TOGETHER, JOY, CURIOUS, CAN DO and INTEGRITY, and these are the cornerstones of everything we do.
We have asked some of our leadership team about their favourite value and what it means to them. Below you can read what they said.
Bianca den Elsen, Managing Partner at Valcon NL
“Bianca, please tell us what your favourite core VALUE is and what is means to you.”
“My favourite core value is TOGETHER. Since stepping into my role as managing partner of Valcon in the Netherlands at the beginning of last year, I really feel and recognize this core value in everything that we do. We co-create solutions together with our clients, by working in high-performing teams built on diversity, respect and trust. We are united in our drive to bring the best to our clients. And I see the same passion when working together to make Valcon a wonderful place for our colleagues to work, learn, grow and have fun at the same time.”, Bianca said.
Michael Hjortlund, Managing Partner at Valcon Nordics
“Michael, please tell us what your favourite core VALUE is and what it means to you.”
“My favourite Valcon core value is JOY. To me, it is important that we truly enjoy what we do and approach our work with passion and an open mind, and as a company, we put energy into creating a positive environment. I see this as essential for us to be able to fulfil our main goal: to add value to our clients and their organisations. We aim to be a workplace where you can bring your whole self. When I step into the office, I have the feeling that people really want to spend time together, either creating great solutions for our clients or just being together to enjoy good company, and I love that. Joy is diverse, it can be loud and noisy, or it can just be that reassuring smile you offer the people around you during the day.”, Michael said.
Sonja Meijerink, Managing Partner at Valcon South East Europe
“Sonja, please tell us what your favourite core VALUE is and what it means to you.”
“My favourite value is CURIOUS. I dare say that I’m curious by nature. I always like to know more about the people around me, the technologies we use, and the industries we work in. I like asking questions, and I believe we all should. I love it when people want to know more about the field of play we are in. We should never be afraid of “asking a stupid question”. We are all curious and need to ask those questions to better understand each other, the field we work in, the challenges we see, and the solutions we can bring.”, Sonja said.
Phil Rolfe, Managing Partner at Valcon UK
“Phil, please tell us what your favourite core VALUE is and what it means to you.”
“I am most aligned with the CAN DO value as it encompasses so much of what we seek to achieve with our clients and team members. Having a Can Do attitude means that we work alongside our clients seeking solutions to the issues they face, being innovative and helping them to achieve their goals. It means that our team members are seen as positive contributors and partners vs just run-of-the-mill consultants. Internally having a Can Do attitude means that we seek ways to support, motivate and engage our team members that are unexpected and go beyond what an ordinary company would do. And we always need more Can Do people as they are what makes us stand out in the market.”, Phil says.
Geert van den Goor, Group Managing Partner at Valcon
“Geert, please tell us what your favourite core VALUE is and what it means to you.”
“My favourite Valcon core value is INTEGRITY. Apart from the usual meaning of being an honourable consultant with strong moral principles, integrity to me also means doing the right thing to add value for the client. It means that if we think a project doesn’t add (enough) value to the client, we don’t proceed with the project. And if the client wants to hear ‘A’ but the reality is ‘B’, then I want to communicate ‘B’, even if it has consequences for our work. I truly believe that doing this earns you respect as a consultant and is the only way to build a long and lasting client relationship.”, Geert says.
