I am Wessel de Jong, and I am a Databricks Engineer at Valcon’s Data capability. Working at Valcon excites me every day because I am constantly challenged to find the optimal data solutions for our clients. Currently, I am collaborating with a major client in the financial sector, where we implement cutting-edge data solutions using Databricks technology.

Throughout the project, we face new requirements from the business, IT architects, and regulatory bodies, pushing us to adapt and enhance our technical infrastructure. Our solutions continuously evolve into more mature data products. Thanks to Valcon’s strong culture of knowledge sharing, best practices and experiences from colleagues on other projects are seamlessly transferred, significantly boosting my personal development and enabling me to make a greater impact on our clients.

In a short time, I’ve gained experience with a wide range of technologies, business applications, and soft skills. During my first project, I was invited to help create the Databricks community within Valcon. Now, over a year and a half later, I am a proud member of the community core team, supporting over 220 Databricks enthusiasts by providing and facilitating hands-on training sessions.

By working on different client projects, I learn skills that can be applied to many other client environments and the challenges they face.

I enjoy working ‘with’ instead of just ‘for’ clients on projects that focus on the people side of change. I believe it’s so valuable that I have colleagues with different skill sets to learn from, such as colleagues focusing on processes or technology.

Overall, I enjoy the variety of projects and clients, but most of all I love working with enthusiastic, motivated colleagues!

Luc van der Schans

I am Luc van der Schans, and I work as a consultant in Valcon’s Technology capability. As a junior, I get all the tools and guidance I need to develop myself which makes it a great start to my professional career. I’m learning new things every day and the variety of projects and tasks I do ensures that each day is different.

Besides working hard there are also plenty of fun events and activities, both with great colleagues at your own project as well as companywide.

Rence van Hunnik

I am Rence van Hunnik, and I and I work as a manger in Valcon’s Technology capability. In our work, we look for solutions that perfectly fits our client’s situation, and we make sure our results include realising practical improvements.

We achieve this with our hands-on approach and closely working together with the client, that is our added value. Next to that, I enjoy working together with my fellow Valconeers, who are best described as a flexible group of eager people with a can-do mentality.

I am Jitske Blokhuis, and I work as a business change consultant in Valcon’s Consulting capability. To me, Valcon is an energetic and entrepreneurial environment where I can leverage my passion for diverse challenges and skill sets.

The variety of assignments, from digital transformations to strategic reorientations, keeps my mind sharp and creative. The young, driven, and passionate colleagues feel like a close-knit family, supporting each other and fostering innovation.
