To ignite the digital transformation, our client needed to redesign their data foundation. Key challenges to overcome involved; product data management improvement, compliance with legislation (allergens), improvement of the quality of master data and providing customers with channel-specific data.
Valcon implemented a master data management solution that initially made Sligro compliant to the allergens legislation, combined with a cultural change to adjust data at the source. In the case of Sligro, this meant actively managing and supporting the supplier to enable them to provide the required information (onboarding process through data pools, like GS1, or supplier portal).
Through the analytics platform, Sligro is now compliant on product and allergen information and able to provide channel-based information. Additionally, the data management department has been transformed and is a better set-up to improve data quality, manage supplier data and support the internal business (processes).
