We are looking for Specialists with the following skill sets:
- Python
- Developing medium to complex applications using cloud technologies
- Unit and integration testing
- Secure coding practices
Desired
- Spark / PySpark / Pandas
- AWS Glue / Glue Studio
- Docker
- Linux OS and bash scripting experience
- Source code management using Git
- Use and configuration of build pipelines
- Appropriate use of logging and monitoring tools, including the correct handling of PII data
The right person will be able to:
- Design, build and test data products that are complex or large scale
- Select and implement the appropriate technologies to deliver resilient, scalable and future-proofed data solutions
- Effectively manage stakeholder expectations
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support and host discussions within a multidisciplinary team, with potentially difficult dynamics
- Present clear insights to colleagues to support the end use of the data
Responsibilities include:
- Design, build, deploy and support components of an ETL pipeline on a cloud native platform (currently AWS)
- Write, test and peer-review maintainable application code in Python and PySpark
- Ensure quality of code developed, including appropriate use of automated testing and secure development practices.
- Engage directly with stakeholders, including clients, to clarify requirements, and take initiative in asking for feedback
