Dorthe has +20 years’ experience, five years as consultant and 16 years as Vice President, CFO and manager at both group and department level, respectively. Dorthe’s focus is on efficiency improvements, process optimisation and performance management in both the private and public sectors. Dorthe is also experienced in organisational design and change leadership. She quickly familiarises herself with an organisation and is highly dedicated in her work on setting lasting footprints with motivated clients.
What do you think is the most interesting dilemma on the business agenda right now?
It must without a doubt be the speed with which the business agenda is radically changing and how to cope with all the dilemmas emerging from that. The leaders of tomorrow are facing disruptive businesses, globalisation, demands for growth, profitability, transparency and customer value … as are the leaders today… but the agenda is changing at a different speed. How to shine in that requires significant leadership skills and outside-in thinking.
The best advice someone ever gave to you?
I was a very young manager when my mentor looked intensely at me and said “Always be true to yourself and listen. Listen carefully to what people are telling you – and not telling you.” I have tried to live by that in every aspect of my life.
What does The HOW mean to you?
It means guiding and helping organisations on their specific journey. It means to acknowledge where they are and, through listening and honest and open dialogues, help strengthen their capabilities to find, see and reach their target.
I’m really inspired every time I hear someone talk passionately about their dream, whatever that is. How they have made it come through, and what then have learned on the way, both businesswise and personally.
