Annika is Senior Partner – People, Culture & Communications in Valcon. She is responsible for the Valcon brand and for attracting the right people and ensuring their development and wellbeing in Valcon.

Her work on strengthening Valcon’s position in the market and our corporate as well as employer brand is closely linked to her focus on developing the people aspect of Valcon’s business. She uses her combination of commercial focus, leadership and strategic outlook to ensure that our people and our business continue to thrive and grow.

What do you think is the most interesting dilemma on the business agenda right now?
No matter what industry you are in, you need to have and to communicate a higher purpose of your business. Employees of today and tomorrow do not settle for a good working environment, existing tasks and the right paycheck. There has to be a greater meaning with what you do with your life. As an employer, you will not be able to attract and retain the strongest talent if they cannot see a higher purpose with what they do. I think many companies think that they have a purpose, but they still haven’t really understood what it means to have a true purpose that can be not only communicated but also lived by all the employees.

The best advice someone ever gave to you?
Always remember that your temper is also an expression of your passion and commitment.
