Lean management in the administration and service sector
The first pioneer companies within the administration and service sector can now see the results of their work with lean management. Using lean as a management tool has made it possible to significantly reduce turnaround, improve customer service, reduce employee stress, increase efficiency and use fewer resources.
An industry organisation has e.g. increased productivity by more than 30% using the same resources and lowered their turnaround by more than 20%. A hospital reduced their waiting time for CT scans from 7-9 weeks to 16 days. Productivity was improved by 25%.
Lean is about improving efficiency in those parts of the organisation or company which create value for the customer and removing all those elements which are of no value to the customer. The entire organisation participates in this process, and the objective is to create a culture among the employees revolving around constant improvement.
