Site Reliability Engineer – AWS

Valcon UK are looking to recruit an experienced, self-motivated, logical and intellectually curious Senior Specialist Site Reliability Engineer – AWS to join our expanding Cloud Transformation capability in the UK.

You will work as part of small, multi-disciplinary teams working collaboratively to solve problems, share skills and create sustainable value for our clients.

Experience

  • An Ops background in supporting large, complex applications in a high change, agile production environment following the ITIL framework.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the operational support and mainte-nance of cloud native and modernised applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Knowledge and experience of leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling and principles to deploy cloud resources, specifically Terraform and CFN
  • Experience working with a range of database technologies and services e.g., DynamoDB, RedShift, *SQL
  • knowledge of 1 or more logging, monitoring and alerting solutions e.g., DataDog, Splunk, CloudWatch etc
  • Skilled in cost optimisation, tagging, cost allocation and wider awareness of the AWS Well Architected Framework and its application
  • AWS Certified: SysOps Associate
  • Comfortable working on call shift/rota pattern with a maximum of 2 in 4 weekends or bank holidays a month
