The business side of the problem showed different departments seeing different data, sub-optimum processes and organisational resistance to data governance standards. The technical side of the problem showed siloed systems data landscape, inconsistent customer data quality and integration complexity.


Valcon identified and prioritised key data challenges and opportunities globally (15+ programmes) to create data governance and an opportunity roadmap. This resulted in the definition of a new data governance structure and processes, new customer data management processes and an organisational rollout plan.


The data strategy has set the foundation for future success through the creation of collaborative data governance processes, common data governance and data management templates. It also established an initial federated data council and designed a business and technical foundation for data governance and MDM capabilities.
